CRUCIFIX LANE VIDEO GAMES

ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR / PROTOPIE / p5.js

Crucifix Lane is a highly illustrative point and click horror game that pushes players to explore a mysterious, unknown estate in the middle of a thick, Coloradoan forest. Depictions are entirely in black and white, with red highlighting user-specific interactions and events. Illustrations are solely shape-based, relying on strong shadows and sharp corners. Inspired heavily by the ‘Faith’ game trilogy and even using the same text to voice engine, this project highlights my love for gaming, illustration, and music.

The story follows Cassius Banks, a colorblind urban explorer and journalist. After stumbling across the property, you make your way to the mansion. At the front door, you find a key under the rug that leads you inside. While inside, you must do a number of tasks: photograph the kitchen, make notes on a spooky siting, and extinguish a strangely already-burning fireplace. Created entirely with JavaScript using p5.js, Crucifix Lane: The Camp is a short, mobile-based series expansion created in January 2024. Utilizing your phone’s gyroscope sensor, the player must move Cassius to exorcise ghostly presences flying throughout the forest’s campsite.
